Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Restaurant Team Member to join our dynamic team. As a Restaurant Team Member at Al Pastor Taqueria you will be fully trained and equipped to work any station. We'll provide the training you need to provide excellent customer service and feel comfortable working at any station - grill, cashier, prep, washing dishes, salsa, etc. You will be hands on in connecting with customers, fellow team members, cooks and keeping the restaurant clean and looking fantastic!

In this role, part of your responsibility will be to provide exceptional service to our customers while ensuring a clean and efficient dining environment. Your contributions will be vital in creating a positive experience for our guests, whether through food preparation, serving, or assisting with cash handling.

Pay Range: $16.50 to 19.25 per hour

Job Type: Part-time (20 to 35 hours per week)

Evenings and Weekend Availability Required

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve food items in accordance with established recipes and standards.
Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for order processing and cash handling.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including kitchen and dining spaces.
Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
Assist with bussing tables and ensuring that the restaurant is well-stocked and organized.
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest quality of food handling practices.
Assist in back of house food preparation and dish washing
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
Make handmade tortillas
Clean grill, hood, equipment, etc.
Other tasks assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Experience in food preparation and culinary skills is preferred.
Familiarity with POS systems
Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Sales skills with a focus on upselling menu items to enhance customer satisfaction.
Proven customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
Previous experience in the food industry, including quick service & fast food restaurants or cafés, is advantageous.
